the letter
Hello Friends & Family!
It’s hard to believe that it’s December again already and we’ve been in Atlanta for over a year and a half.
In May we moved just outside downtown Atlanta to an artsy, close knit community called Decatur. We’re leasing a 1930’s craftsman style bungalow and live three blocks from Oakhurst village, which has several restaurants, shops, gym and park.
It’s so nice to have so many wonderful things within walking distance and has helped us get introduced to many of our neighbors. We found so many genuine and friendly people in our community that we now call friends. We’re hoping to buy a home in this community in the near future.
In June we partnered with the Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue Organization to foster one of their dogs in need. After a week, we added him, Brutus, to our family. He has already graduated from his six week training class and although he kept things interesting, he has really gotten settled and everyone who meets him seems to love him. We get stopped every time we take him for a walk or to the dog park.
Brian’s completed his first full year as Freelance Graphic Designer. He’s taken on many new clients in Atlanta throughout the past year and has had many new successes and opportunities. He’s also been experimenting and spending more on one of his favorite hobbies; old film cameras. And he’s been able to use them for some client projects.
He also turned the big 3-0 this year, as so of course we had to celebrate. Leah turned the house into a cantina and full-fledged Mexican fiesta with our friends and neighbors. And one of our favorite restaurants in Oakhurst Village catered the party.
We are both so thankful that his leg has made a full recovery since last year at this time and all of the unexpected medical craziness we experienced. We know that we are very fortunate that he has not had ongoing issues from the initial prognosis.
Leah changed jobs in May of this year and accepted the Catering Manager position with TWELVE Hotels & Residences in downtown Atlanta. She manages the catering staff and planning for all event spaces within their two properties. She really enjoys this new experience and loves working downtown.
Pretty much, we had an awesome year and we are glad that, to some extent, you shared it with us.
Love,
Brian & Leah
